In addition, Coordinators provide an essential pastoral care service through coordinating Home Room programs and providing counselling support to students. The role of Year Coordinators includes supporting and monitoring the transition of new students to our school.
Individual Support
Students may make appointments with our School Psychologists and Chaplain for confidential assistance with issues such as academic stress, anxiety, bullying, depression, family violence, friendships, grief and loss, mental health, relationships, self-harm, self-care, self-image, sexuality and gender, sexual assault, sleep, and suicidal thinking.
Other Forms of Support
Our Student Wellbeing team arranges and runs group programs, guest speaker programs, workshops and other activities that promote student wellbeing. These are delivered to all students through our Home Room and annual Orientation programs, as well as in more individualized small-group settings. Age-appropriate programs at the Year level focus on the identified needs of young adolescents, such as resilience, cyber-bullying and online safety.
Support is also provided to Year 7 students by trained Transition Leaders from Years 8 and 9, and our Year 10 students are completing a leadership program to provide peer support and advice to our youngest students in the school grounds.
External Support
Many community agencies and support groups are available outside of school, including Headspace, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Community Health Services, and private counselling services.
